dear friends, Dear Mike
You will be remembered in many hearts as an exceptional blacksmith and person with a warm heart. Your extraordinary, independent and clear view of life and career shaped all of us who were able to get to know you. Your interest and your great willingness to help other people and their lives made us so happy.
We had reasons for joy and laughter at every encounter, be it professionally and, above all, personally through your friendship.
With your tobacco pipe, whether it was lit or not, your British connection with wearing a kilt was legendary and testifies to a strong earthly connection.
Thank you and we will remember you like this - rest in peace.

I was Mike's last apprentice, throughout the
late 90's, after I left Hereford college. He was exceptionally generous with his teaching, and was fiercely protective of his 'lads and lasses'. All he asked was that you always gave your best (and provided him with seemingly endless mugs of tea!) He was my master and my friend - I'll miss him lots. Much love Mike x🔨
